Which is exactly why I save all the Q7 15AL inscriptable shields I find regardless of what color they drop. Also make for a VERY nice caster defense in PVP as you cannot make these.

Gaile, take this Tormented Sword and proclaim it a bane to all your enemies and bathe in their virtual blood! Track down botters and leechers and stab them until their ruin is stained across the countryside!

edit: and its not like its that hard to level up and get more points anymore.

Example: Req 7 bow. I can wield my bow and have silly amounts of points for spliter barrage, or fire damage... etc

I dunno... would be "interesting" to know for sure. But do you know the slipside to this whole thing? This Dev, John I suppose is his name, may get around to nerfing those drops. ;-) There are pros, and there are cons to having the administration know stuff.
Just like they're pros, and cons, to letting the mass of guild wars know farm locals, and farm builds. ;-)

I use a solo Warrior build quite often that requires a minimum investment in Swordsmanship as it relies more on Tactics-based skills.
Yet, the additional damage from at least meeting the requirement in the sword is nice...and wasting those extra attribute points when they could be invested elsewhere makes a req 7 worth a bunch more than a req 9 weapon.

Did we catch all the dupes? Perhaps not, but we know we removed a lot of them. We will likewise act on reports of this sort of thing as quickly and as thoroughly as we are able. It's important to you; it's important to us.
Two: We can't look at someone's account and say "Hey, he has lots of stuff = He must be a duper = We will ban him immediately!" We did a thorough investigation at the time of the incident and for some time afterward. As I said, we banned a number of people then, and we took a goodly number of armbraces out of the economy at that time. But to go in months later and indict someone because he/she has a nice inventory is like arresting someone because he passes through a city where a crime once took place.
Three: Sensational posts without at least some connection to truth are pointless. Yes, I know, forums thrive on just such threads. However, saying there is a dupe on Live, in the here-and-now, just doesn't do anyone any good unless it is true. We feel there is not a live dupe right now, but we're more than willing to look into the matter with any assistance whatsoever from the community. Find out details and report them to [email protected] if you think there's duping going on. Please don't wave the "there are lots of XX, therefore there is an active dupe" flag unless you're darned sure it's true!
Four: Sometimes, things drop in price for a perfectly natural reason: because they are more abundant. It's part of that whole "Supply and Demand" theory. As several have pointed out here, with some skills being very powerful, it only makes sense that players are more successful, meaning they're nabbing more prime items.

Gaile Take this Tormented Sword and...all the dupe items that were left in the game and shove it. see that for "we got most of the dupers"

- Because it's around the only things left in the game that is imbalancing PvP in favor of PvE players? If weapon has maximum mods it should have req 9, simple as that.

Um, it's really not imbalancing PvP. At all. Because nobody uses 7/anything less than 14 in a weapon att. Ever. If you're referring to shields, the 8 armor doesn't make an entirely huge difference, and the number of people with the money to have perfect req7 shields is so small that it is not a problem...at all.
